Spent yesterday at Frodsham for the Quilters Guild Region 13 Area Day, where I was the afternoon speaker. I want to thank everyone who made lovely comments about my talk and about my work. Getting feedback is really appreciated, particularly when I work so much in isolation. Thanks to those who made my yummy lunch and cakes too!
Hurrah! My quilt "With A Spring In My Step" has been selected as one of 38 pieces to go into a special exhibition - Celebrate Spring! 2013 - as part of the International Quilt Festival in Cincinnati, USA. It will then tour to the end of this year.
When I was nine I won a pair of Spring Heels by sending a joke into the Dandy. (Spring Heels were like roller skates but with springs instead of wheels - probably responsible for serious overcrowding in orthopaedic wards up and down the country)
Now, when I spend so much time dashing about, trying to do too many things at once, I often wish I still had them.
Here are a couple of details from the quilt - the full image will go up after the exhibition opens in mid April.
I am happiest stitching, dyeing, painting and printing in my shed. I walk on the coast path to think. I'm told I should blog to keep my website alive, so here goes.....
